Training and development is an integral part of our graduate programme, comprising a thorough induction in the business, its people and basic systems, and a rolling 12-month programme covering core modules such as radiation physics and protection, introduction to the nuclear industry and fuel cycle, radiological consequence assessment, hazard identification techniques, nuclear safety cases and human factors (to name but a few)!
And it doesn’t stop there! For us, graduate training and development extends far beyond a series of courses, it encompasses everything from attending industry events and conferences, to working in a variety of teams with different areas of expertise and levels of experience. In fact, several of our graduates have taken a leading role in organising events and communications for the Nuclear Institute’s Young Generation Network (YGN), which is a great way to get to know the nuclear industry and graduates from other company backgrounds. Our established buddy and mentor system also means you will have a fellow graduate to give you some friendly advice along the way, and help you with any problems
We also understand that training and development does not just mean a series of courses, but requires robust mentoring and knowledge transfer systems. At Orano Limited, you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from recognised experts, a number of which have been accredited as ‘experts’ by the international Orano Group, and appointed as ‘technical authorities’ within the company.
Office rotations and secondments will also feature in your role, allowing you to experience projects with different clients and internal teams, giving you the breadth of experience you need when starting out as a consultant.
