As Orano’s UK engineering platform, Orano Limited offers an expert and local resource to UK clients, while acting as a gateway to the unique and global experience of its parent.
The expertise of our engineering teams spans the entire nuclear fuel cycle from uranium enrichment, to spent fuel recycling, through to decommissioning and waste management. At the same time, our teams are experienced in a range of non-fuel cycle engineering services, including nuclear new build and other non-nuclear applications. Our wide-ranging engineering capability and the flexible, integrated structure of our business fosters a culture of innovation that draws on the knowledge and experience of our whole team to offer our clients a practical and informed approach to projects.
Whether this means collaboration with our internal consulting division, our parent company or other partners, our engineering teams draw upon all available resources to support the expert services we deliver.
Orano’s global Projects Business Unit boasts a team of 1,500 professionals worldwide, along with 50 years’ experience in the design, construction and operation of one-of-a-kind facilities in La Hague, Marcoule and Melox, including some of the flagship projects of the last decade in South-East France - George Besse II, REC II, and Comurhex II. Our UK teams are then able to apply the unique experience and Lessons Learned by Orano at these facilities, to some of the UK’s most complex nuclear challenges, while not losing sight of the specific requirements of UK sites and clients.
On the ground in the UK, our business is closely integrated with our established teams of specialist nuclear consultants, which allows us to complement our skills with specialist disciplines such nuclear safety assessment, UK regulations, shielding and dose assessment, and human factors.
