Orano Limited is delighted to welcome David Batters to its Management team as of 1st October 2023. David will progressively replace John Storer, who has been Orano Limited’s Managing Director since 2017, and who will be retiring at the end of the calendar year. John leaves the industry after 42 years working in both the UK and international nuclear sector, and having overseen the transformation of Orano’s UK footprint into the single delivery business that exists today.
A qualified accountant with a degree in science, David Batters has extensive experience in multiple UK and international roles in the defence and nuclear sectors. David has undertaken a number of senior roles within BAE Systems and its predecessors, where he managed a variety of business activities across the world in Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and India. He also spent nine years as Group Chief Financial Officer at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and was the Executive in charge of designing and delivering a successful growth strategy for Amentum in the UK. David has worked with a wide variety of nuclear clients, including the NDA, AWE, Springfields and Capenhurst.
