This has meant a lot of changes to the “normal” use of the office, to minimise specifically covid-related risk, including the anticipated provision of 4000 face masks, but also not forgetting to address all conventional safety hazards in this new environment.
Stephane Compere, CEO of Orano UK said: “The Orano group supported us successfully in the difficult challenges to get sufficient face masks to protect our people and I was impressed by the collaborative work of the UK team to prepare safe return to work plans”
Like many of our colleagues across the group, we will still be working from home, whenever we can, in line with the latest government guidance. Our management, HR and Health and Safety team is keeping up to date to make sure we are following current best practices.
A different safety day for 2020
As part of our commitment to safety, we hold an annual safety day across all Orano offices in the UK to coincide with the Orano group safety month in June. This would normally involve interactive sessions in the offices, but this was obviously not possible at this time. Instead we held a webinar focussed on office safety during the covid-19 pandemic, to ensure all staff were up to date with the changes to the offices and the new instructions for working in the offices when necessary.
John Storer, Managing Director of Orano Projects Limited said “We are proud of how well the company has adapted in this challenging time, and our staff who have continued to carry out work to our usual high standards.”
We would like to thank all our staff for their hard work through this period, and hope everyone is staying safe and well.
