This exciting and innovative graduate programme is designed to develop talented individuals who will grow and potentially lead our business in the future.
You will have the opportunity to work across several different business functions to gain full appreciation of the nuclear lifecycle, and understand how Orano Limited have earned an enviable reputation, built on the principles of quality, service and trust.
Each graduate is allocated a mentor over a two-year period, who will work closely with you to support the induction process and your subsequent career development.
The role
This role is Permanent, Full-time and a 37- hour week
During your time as a graduate Nuclear Safety Consultant, you will be part of a 2-year graduate scheme in which your employment will continue thereafter. Your work here will have a real impact on making our world safer both for now and for future generations to come. This early exposure will equip you with the breadth of knowledge to ensure you start off with a strong footing in your career with us.
Within the Nuclear Safety discipline of Orano Limited, you will deliver technically competent documents striving to exceed client requirements, by working with experienced safety consultants. There may be an opportunity to do secondments with other disciplines that you are interested in too.
As a Graduate Nuclear Safety Consultant at Orano Limited, some of the specialist tasks you could be involved in are:
- Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, regarding technical excellence, the quality of deliverables, timescales and cost in a way that supports the long-term growth of the business and its reputation.
- Being an active contributor for the safety cases for high hazard category facilities/plants.
- Production of all major elements of safety cases, in particular fault analysis and the identification and specification of safety systems.
- Developing and presenting robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
- Participating in the integrated design process and interfacing with engineers and human factors specialists.
- Writing modifications to nuclear safety cases.
- Being part of the governance process, such as responding to client, peer review and safety committee comments.
- Attendance at meetings with more senior colleagues and interaction with the client.
About you

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will:
- Have a degree (or working towards) scientific or engineering degree (or equivalent)
- The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK.
In addition to this, you will also:
- Have excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing
- Have excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
- Be curious in your thinking and apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions
- Have the ability to use your own initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
- Be results driven mentality with an ability to achieve set objectives
- Be enthusiastic about your own career development and a motivation to learn
